For quite some time I’ve been on the search for old covered bridges. This one in Asheboro, North Carolina proved to be a very good find. Finding this place took very little time, all I did was search the map for photos tagged with GPS coordinates. I used Flickr and searched for covered bridges in North Carolina. Immediately I found a few places that looked noble enough to investigate. I finally decided on the Piscah Covered Bridge because it was relatively close by. The bridge was located fairly deeply into the entangled back roads of NC. Families waved as I passed by, kids of all ages building snowmen and riding 4-wheelers. Christmas’ winter snow fall came just at the right time, letting up only a few hours before heading out to the bridge. The beauty of the snow and the stillness of the water highlights the peace I felt here. There is truly nothing like a calm moment surrounded by nature’s beauty.
